Today I finished the Carolina Crossroads top (maybe known as Life's Crossroads) for my daughter Stephanie. She graduated from high school last year and this is her graduation quilt. Her room is done in bright pink, lime green and zebra print. So, you see all of those elements here. This was a fun mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter. Now to finish the back and then to decide whether I'm going to quilt it myself or send it out to be quilted.

Changes
Life changes rather expectedly or unexpectedly. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. But through all of these changes there is quilting. It has been my shelter in many storms.....some little and some big. It has carried me through several location moves, through several job changes and a terrible divorce. And now it carries me through my mom's illness and recovery and through another job change.
Last Friday was something that I saw coming but was unprepared for. I changed jobs in March after being at Joann's for five years. There never was enough work to keep me busy but still the attorney took a chance and hired me. Most days I spent sitting at my desk doing nothing. Well, the attorney decided that he could no longer pay me to do nothing. So, I was let go. Now its back to the job search again. I dread looking for another job. I absolutely hate doing it, but do it I must.
My mom continues to improve. She has now been in the hospital for 5 weeks. She is on a ventilator but breathing on her own. She is still sedated and will be for a little while longer. Her pneumonia and MRSA are slowly getting better.
Thank goodness I have my quilting. It is keeping me sane at this point.
